FHTA Presidents Trail News!
Its kinda- sort of- a little bit getting closer to amazing, comfortable weather! I thought I’d drop a note as to what we’ve been up to at the Fundy Hiking Trails Association this past winter.
First of all, the FHTA Annual General Meeting is coming up Monday April 13 2026, 7pm at the Byron Dobson Arena upper mezzanine, Riverview. We welcome everybody who’s interested in the Dobson Trail and Fundy Footpath. We are also always looking for volunteers. Let us know!
We’re also getting a new paint job for our website, and we’re very excited! It’ll feature a platform for us to keep you better updated on real time events, like the fire ban in 2025. More to come!
Alright, here’s what’s going on with the Fundy Footpath:
Our Fundy Footpath Trailmaster has completed a new Trail Guide which will be available soon at one of our partners listed below:
* Friends of Fundy/Fundy Guild
* All the regular outlets that have carried the book in the past
***Note: New guide book should be available mid April 2026 ***
We’re also going to be replacing the cable stairs that are located in the Fundy Trail Parkway Provincial park this year.
If you’re planning on hiking either the FFP or Dobson Trail in full, start your research on our website https://fundyhikingtrails.com/ , let others know to start here as well!
FUNDY FOOTPATH, TRAIL NOTICES:
– Footbridge at Big Salmon Interpretive centre will still not be in use for the 2026 hiking season, plan accordingly.
– Starting on September 8th, Fundy National Park will be repairing Point Wolfe Covered Bridge, that means that restricted access during fall 2026. There will be a (hiking) detour to get from Fundy Park HQ to Goose River crossing, more details (and a map) to come.
Here’s what happening with the Dobson Trail!
Dobson In A Day is coming back! Keep an eye out on this page for more details about the summers most interesting adventure. All are welcome to participate, but there will be a limit of participants, you’ll want to register early.
Please remember:
Only parking lot #1 is in use on Pine Glen Rd. No parking in lot #2, that means – if there is no rope, or caution tape, or giant rock blocking the entrance, do not park there. Again, PARKING LOT #2 is off limits.
If parking lot #1 is busy, we encourage you to park:
-end of Findlay BLVD
-Quinn Court
Please keep your dog on a leash. We understand your dog might be one of the good dogs, but all dogs MUST BE ON A LEASH.
Please pick up after your dog (and yourself).
A huge thank you to the land owners and everybody for your co-operation.
Other things to note:

No campfires on the first 3km of the Dobson Trail
-
No overnight camping permitted on the first 3km of the Dobson Trail

No campfires on any part of the trail during any fire bans
-
The entire Dobson Trail is dog on leash
Overnight camping in the parking lot is prohibited.
